Your data, in plain words

VroomLap is run by Amardeep Bahra in Guernsey ("we"). We are the controller of the personal data described here, under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017. Questions: privacy@vroomlap.com.

What stays on your phone

Your sessions (positions, speeds and forces from your phone or GPS unit, and your laps), your garage, setups and notes are kept on your phone. Without a team or an account, none of it leaves your phone. The app uses your location only while you are recording a session.

What comes to us, and why

• Teams. If you make or join a team, your finished sessions and the tracks you learn are sent to our server so the other phones in your team can see them. Each phone is known by the name you give it.
• Your account. If you sign in, we keep your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead), the name you enter, and which teams your phones are in, so your teams and subscription follow you to a new phone.
• Subscriptions. Payment is handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to learn whether your VroomLap Coach subscription is active and until when. We never see your card.
• AI coaching and reading. When you ask for coaching or have a results sheet read, a summary of that session (laps, corners, braking points), or the sheet you chose, is sent through our server to Anthropic to produce the answer. Anthropic processes it for us under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.
• Events. If you join an organiser's event with your code, the drives you make in Event mode that day are sent to that organiser, so their staff can coach you and give you your report. Your other sessions are not. The organiser is responsible for how they use your event drives, under their own privacy notice.

Where it is kept

Our server and database are run for us by Supabase, in London (United Kingdom). Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth; sign-in codes are emailed by our email provider.

How long we keep it

Team sessions stay with the team until the team deletes them. Your account details are kept until you delete your account. Records of subscription changes are kept as long as we need them for our accounts.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account in the app: Settings, Your account, Delete my account. Your sign-in and account details are deleted; sessions already shared with a team stay with that team.
• Leave a team or an event in the app at any time.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to privacy@vroomlap.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey (odpa.gg).

Children

Young karters use VroomLap with their families. A child's sessions are kept on the family's phone, and teams are made and run by adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and say so in the app.
